Is this the most beautiful chair you have ever seen?

Timeless

I just spotted these from Min Hogg Design, who's name you will recognize if you have ever read the World of Interiors, a great, great interiors mag from London.

Her designs will just not go out of style.

Cool Bulb

This energy-saving light bulb looks promising, as i have yet given up my energy-hogging incandescent bulbs. Coming into U.S. market soon.

a little late...

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. — Neil Gaiman

Quitting your day job

And it was then that Thomas Dent Mutter, that genius, that cad, spoke to me through 150 years of history. He wrote a speech in 1847 that I just happened to be transcribing in 2010 and in it he said, “The world is no place of rest. I repeat, it is no place of rest but for effort. Steady, continuous undeviating effort. Our work should never be done and it is the daydream of ignorance to look forward to that as a happy time, when we shall wish for nothing more, and have nothing more to accomplish.

True

"The cure for anything is salt water -- sweat, tears or the sea."

Bucky RIP

Our buckeye was killed yesterday around dusk by a bobcat. We are all crying, except Bruce. He plucked and cleaned up Bucky for dinner.
